28 May 2024, 10:00 - 10:30

We are going to be in the area for a few days and we thought it would be awesome to have a geocaching get together at a nice little park and scenic view before heading out to enjoy more of Colorado's scenic beauty. We want to meet some local geocachers or even others passing through the area like we are. Bring your trackables to drop and move along or to discover also. There is plenty of parking and we will be in the grey Jeep Trailhawk with Ohio plates. There are public restrooms next to the parking area also.

Where: Oxbow Park and Preserve
500 Co Rd 203
Durango, Colorado

When: Tuesday, May 28th

Time: 10:00 am to 10:30 am

What a great start to the day. It was awesome to meet new geocachers and swap tales and trackables.

Post GeoWoodstock it is now the time to meander a bit picking up new counties and other interesting caches. The hosts for this gathering happened to be friends with whom I was caching much of the GeoWoodstock week. In fact, they bowled together at the Starlite event in Flagstaff as I cheered them on. I did a double take when I saw them get out of their cachemobile. I didn’t know or didn’t remember the geo-nic of either host so it was a surprise to see a face I recognized. It was a good turnout for a random meet-n-greet. More random was later when I encountered Jinxer05 and COAvery15 about 90 miles away at a cemetery cache. Geocaching can be so random at times. Thanks for hosting.

Great meet up, my first one. The hosts were awesome and I learned a lot from these pros! Got my first trackable to hide!
