Another cache on the way to the Swisher Meadow - may as well get two while going up this tough trail.

My new husband and I decided to hike up to Swisher Meadow this Memorial Day (well, I guess I decided and he didn't know what we were in for).  The Swisher Trail is really steep, but we were rewarded about halfway up with 3 beautiful Fairy Slipper Orchids.  On the way back down, I placed this cache near there.  Now, anyone headed up has two caches as a reward, or if you've already done the other and need an excuse besides the beautiful meadow to go back, here it is.  You're looking for a small decon hanging in a tree.

There are lots of wild iris in bloom right now, and the azure butterflies were everywhere all the way up.

I was out for a nice hike today; this was my first visit to this trail and Cheyenne Mountain. Since I was in the area, I decided to give this cache a try. I enjoyed the trail and was happy to make the find on the cache with no drama. The container is still in serviceable condition. Thanks to the CO for bringing me to the MacNeill Trail and placing this cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

This one kinda jumps out at you--which is a nice reason to stop and catch your breath on the climb to Swisher Meadow. I took a bug and left a grasshopper and squirrel. TFTC!

It was a beautiful day to be out but too late in the season for the orchids. There were a few chew marks on the top of the container but I was surprised to see water in the cache. One of them must have been just deep enough to let it seep in. I put a piece of duct tape over the lid to discourage further chewing and hopefully make it water tight again. I'm glad I finally made the time to hike these trails. TFTC

Got this one on the way down from Swisher. It is still in good shape. Thanks to gorillgal for adding another excellent cache to find along this really nice trail ( my first time up here ).
