Storied names in the history of USAAF/USAF Air Mobility.  Beans to bullets, troops to transportation, rocket motors to ICBMs. Air Mobility is the backbone of servicing the needs of the military, whether in testing, conflict, or peace.  Without Air Mobility, you are not going from point to point quickly and you certainly are not going to win a conflict, keep the peace, or provide aid.

Dedicated to all Air Mobility crew who flew these wonderful aircraft!

We looked for this container for quite a while before a bit of color caught our eye. Made the short climb and retrieved the prize. Gampa’s dad was a flight engineer on C-124 Globemasters back when the organization was called MATS. Gampa wanted to follow in his dad’s footsteps but the Air Force had other plans. Thanks to the CO for the fun cache and for her service to our nation’s Air Force.

Started an epic caching weekend by checking out the fire tower, then meandering south along Rampart Range Road. Met up with Billkat and GoMRT for a fun hike this morning. Amazing views from here!! I love seeing the tribute caches this community has placed, and WingsAndTales definitely deserves a good one for all she has done for the community, for her excellent challenges, and for the inspiringly adventurous, yet humble and thoughtful person she is in general. This spot was probably my favorite of the whole day...I could see coming up here for a few quiet moments again. Thanks for placing this cache.

First time on this trail for me, so thought I'd do the loop and find lots of caches. Thanks for the many interesting hides!

Getting logs caught up, now that retreat to a more southerly (& wayy hotter) home provides more useable internet!

This next one went blessedly quickly, so I could continue on out of earshot of all those still laughing at how long the Clydesdales one had taken me !!

MAC is dead. Long Live AMC. The name has changed but the mission is the same. I've got about 1500 hours in a Starlifter and there are more stories packed into those hours than the rest of my career. When the last one was parked someone sent out a slide show of them showing all the models, paint jobs and destinations. It was set to Johnny Cash's I've Been Everywhere. That just hit it on the head.

It's a great spot for a cache and the views are outstanding. TFTC

This one certainly took me awhile before I finally found it. Reading the description would have shorten my search. TFTC.

We were so distracted by the view that it took us a while to find the well-hidden cache. I saw the attachment first and without that, we might still be up there looking. Great place for this trubute! We took Hondo Avenue and Catamount Trail and branched off on a good connector trail at about N38 56.007 W105 02.697, following blue flags part of the way up to the ridge. TFTC!
