This cache was placed on May 21st, 2022 in honour of the American Red Cross founded this day in 1881.
The block across the street was named for the American Red Cross, Colorado chapter. Their original headquarters (now demolished) was located about a thousand feet from here on the (former) Lowry Field Army/Air Force Base.
This intersection at Red Cross Way and East 1st Place is also the geographic crossroads of Lowry Field (see photo). Take a moment to look around and imagine this location when it was once a bustling military installation.
This area remains very busy and highly trafficked to this day, so activate stealth mode and watch out for muggles.
