Wow what a cache! Unlike the last searcher, I found it. However, I did take a left turn and go straight down a huge slot canyon of sorts (stupid gps). That's when I figured out that I was not in the right area. So I hiked out, regrouped, and returned. After finding the right GZ, I was concerned (and tired) that it was going to be down on ground level. Nope! Not this time. Found it easily. But it was soaking wet. So I dried it out as best as I could and returned to the truck to replace the log and the baggie (allowing the original log to dry out). I re-packaged the original log, added a new one, each in their own baggies, and returned the hide to it's hiding place. Oh, and I removed the twizzler in the cache that some knucklehead put in there. TFTC! Great hide!

The coordinates were spot on for the other monsters, so once at the GZ I checked the hint. Not too helpful, but encouraged me to venture way down and around. There were still pockets of snow in the crevices, but glad the shrubs hadnt leafed out yet or it would be even harder. I tried to think like bigfoot and checked out a cave I had to squeeze into, but then I heard thunder... on a clear day.

Scrambled out and discovered it was lots of gunfire. Very creepy, considering the unsolved murder in the area from last year. Wish people would treat our land with more respect - it felt like a beer-bottle strewn warzone. Decided to call it quits and get out before I was the next unsolved death.

Hi - I made a Mt Herman Rd run during a visit about a month ago … can't resurrect the actual proper date. It was cool, windless, pretty heavy overcast. I'd had less-than-optimal internet access during the stay, but rounded up a collection of targets w/ > or = 2 Diff. Succeeded on all I tried! Thanks, CO's !! Smile

I had a good time scrambling all over here looking for this one... As well as getting a feel for the sort of thing that lay ahead... as my main goal for the trip was just down there … And I was in no way, shape, or form about to ignore it !!!!! BigSmile

Here from KY visiting my daughter. I get to geocache while she works! I almost gave up but an approach from a different direction (the wrong one I’m sure) resulted in success. Thanks for placing this one, for the challenge, and for bringing me to this cool place. I was still happy even if I had not found the cache.
