NGS Benchmark Series.
I wanted to make a series to show geocachers more of our nation's benchmarks. Though they can be found in every county in the continental U.S. benchmarks are are just another little known survey tool to the public. But when you look on the NGS site or Geocaching.com you can see every detail about them. There is also description for each that tells exactly where they are. These descriptions interest me the most, at times you have to wonder where in the world did the railroad track go that was 50 feet from a certain benchmark years ago. I hope that this series gives a historical insight to geocachers of what our country looked like in the years past.

Nicely done. Signed log.

Thanks Tom.dog for giving me a reason to get outside. It’s always worth it when you are enjoying nature. There is nothing better than acting like a kid again, digging through weeds and climbing trees, all to sign my name on a piece of paper.

Found with Cachly for IOS.

Out and about caching and exploring with the geocacher extraordinaire known throughout the land as none other than the lovable and cuddly herndonrd. Today our goal was to explore Castlewood Canyon and grab whatever caches we could find.

This was not one of our primary targets for the day, but it helped herndonrd get one more degree in the 360° challenge. Of course I had to beg and plead for him to make the detour, which he did just so I would stop whining.

As is typical, herndonrd was holding the container before I had gotten out of the car. After he signed the log for us and put everything back in place, we were back in the car and driving off to the next one. Thanks for the fun hide and for your contribution to a great day of caching.

P. S. No animals (including humans or PayMeCache) were harmed in the writing of this log.

Out caching with FeartheFish as he hadn't done any of the Castlewood caches and as usual me driving his butt all over the place. Got this one while moving from one side of Castlewood Canyon to the other. TFTC!

April 15th, my taxes are done, it is a beautiful day so I grabbed my GPSer for a day of geo-fun. No DNFs today so it was a good day. For the most part, the caches were in great shape. I did replace 4 or 5 that were MIA. Thanks to the COs for placing.
