This cache is hidden at the last remaining coal storage facility along the historic Rio Grande Southern Railroad. Constructed in 1890, the chutes had "pockets' that were designed to dump premeasured amounts of coal quickly into the waiting coal cars.

To access the cache, park at the base of the dirtroad then hike up to the trailhead. It's 1/2 mile hike to the cache location. Cache is a micro so bring your own pen!

Great little hike! Nice and easy after a full day out and about geocaching. My specialized ground speak tweezers and log roller came in handy! Could be easily passed over but the hint really helped.

OK, we’re in town to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and decided this FTF was too close to ignore. If I had on shorts and water shoes I could’ve crossed the river and made a short hike here. If not for a gate, and a couple of signs. I could’ve made this a P&G. As it was it was a nice hike in a quick find their beautiful structure. Enjoyed reading about the history and looking at this old building. Thanks for bringing me out here and let me work up a bit of an appetite before we go out and have lunch. FTF @ noon.
