Brennan7, 3 Williams Kidz, RPieperCO, YamaGypsy, and Kerewin0430. I’ve been on this Balanced Rock Road / trail before, but it was much more fun with the group. It was a good thing I was strap hanging with the group…I had no idea how to do the puzzle I this one. I passed on this one before, so it was nice to get to GZ today by working smarter, not harder. We actually went right to the hiding spot, but promptly overlooked the container so we could have some additional fun checking the entire area. I didn’t solve the puzzle, I didn’t make the find, but at least helped with the navigation and hopefully saved some energy getting here. I also had the GoPro for the group photo, although Brennan tried to steal my thunder with the voice activation. It was nice to see the crew pull together to give this one some TLC. It was at this moment I realized this one was super lonely. What a great bonus since I keep track of those stats. With this find, I now have (counting only 1 year or more lonely) a total of 124 years, 4 months lonely time on 60 caches from 11 North American States & Provinces. Thanks to the CO for placing this fun cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

Awesome first hike of the new year! Finding a lonely cache that hasn't been seen in 5 years. When Brennan first gave Rick and I a hint on what we needed to solve this I was able to solve with the coords WingsandTales got. Today I teamed up with Brennan7, Kerewin0430, Rpieperco, 3WilliamsKidz, and Ktrackers to make the trek to the final. Tftc!

Was so happy to be invited to go out for a New Year's hike with Brennan7, 3 Williams Kidz, RPieperCO, YamaGypsy, and K Trackers - this lonely cache was our goal! The air was crisp and cold, perfect temp as long as you keep walking. :-) Geosenses immediately took us to the correct hiding place (clever hint!), but 5 years of debris initially foiled us. Some runners/bikers came by and knew about geocaching, though their understanding of where the cache was located was somewhat off. Maybe there was another cache nearby at some point in the distant past?? Anyway, great hide, beautiful scenery, and what a privilege to be part of this great group of cachers! Thanks for placing this...and thanks to all the cachers who DIDN'T find it in the last 5 years and let it become such a good goal for us! :-)

FUTURE CACHERS -- VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ THIS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO FIND THIS CACHE !!!
While we will not assist you in getting the final coordinates to this cache, once you have gotten on your way to doing so, a conversion of coordinates will be required, and it will be obvious to see that. There are several ways to do the conversion BUT -- not all result in the correct final coordinates.
So, if you do the conversion, and your latitude decimal minutes (the three digits after the decimal, as in NORTH xx degrees, xx.ABC, result in ABC actually having 4 digits, that is NOT CORRECT. Likewise, if your conversion results in the decimal minutes of both the latitude and longitude (that is 6 digits total) adding up to either 27 or 28, that is NOT CORRECT.
If, however, your conversion results in the decimal minutes of both the latitude and longitude (that is 6 digits total) adding up to 30, then that IS correct.
If you want confirmation of your solution before setting out, please email the cache owner and/or myself.
Good luck !!!

Woo-HOO, a team (of 6) find on a Lonely Cache not found in over 5 years -- gotta love that !!! Future cachers -- see my Note on correct and incorrect puzzle coordinate solutions, to avoid not having them right (as was the case with both Brennan7 and myself before today).
The geo-team of myself (just me, no Kidz), Brennan7, RPieperCO, Kerewin0430, YamaGypsy, and K Trackers made the find on the first day of 2018 with so little snow or ice on the ground that it isn't even worth mentioning. See other finder's logs for more details but with 6 cachers looking, it didn't take long to find even though -- you are not going to believe this, and I am not kidding -- very shortly after arriving at GZ and with all 6 of us looking in different spots, up the hill come a few hikers, and one of them looks at us and says "You looking for the cache?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?!?! NOT FOUND IN OVER 5 YEARS !!!
Anyway, Brennan7 came up with the container, and we all signed or stamped the log, after YamaGypsy thawed it out enough to very carefully separate the pages, one by one, to get to the page last signed in 2012 (see attached photo that has had the exif GPS locating information removed).
WOW -- boy we were glad to get that one !!! Since that previous logbook was still usable, we put it into a ziploc, and also dropped off a new Rite-in-the-Rain logbook, pencil and pencil sharpener all in a new and separate small ziploc, to ensure future cachers will be able to easily sign it, if they have trouble with the original logbook.
TFTC !!!
