An easy traditional cache in Chatefield Park. Fee required.
Tired of mini-micro caches? This surprise is a two mile round trip walk on an unshaded paved path. (NOTE: none of which is under water. Not sure what will happen when they add 12 feet to the reservoir in a couple of years.) A hat and water are a good idea in the summer.
Bikers, if you don't want thorns in your tires, walk this one.

Park at the new parking lot at N39 31.912 W105 02.744.

Well. with all the construction in the area, it's still intact. You can't get there completely legally yet,, but another State Park Volunteer and I biked in to scout out the area. Lots of bushes and branches to deal with, and poison ivy in the warm season, but the cache is surviving. Hopefully it will get more business when this awful construction is finished.

Lovely walk along the creek. Cache well hidden before and after I found. Left a hot wheel car. Loved that there were gloves in cache. Fortunately I don' t need today. TFTC

Poison ivy not out yet, so no problem getting to the cache. It was lying on the ground, completely exposed with the lid screwed on crooked, but contents dry. As a state parks volunteer walking the trails, I would have to remove it as litter as I found it, but I tried to obscure it as well as I could.

No poison evy at all. The cache was in a tree it was fine but it is winter and everything is dead. Anyways tftc sl I crossed a lot of rivers in my shoes and ripped my shirt and pants to these caches but overall worth it and a great time.
