I was born in Colorado, grew up in Kansas, then moved back to Colorado. The Oldest Active Geocache (Mingo) was placed in Kansas so I thought I would place this one here in Colorado in honor of Mingo’s Birthday. Mingo is located southeast of the town of Colby, Kansas, along I-70. If you had ever driven on I-70 in between Colby and Oakley in the past forty years you have probably seen signs for Prairie Dog Town, which is now closed.
Mingo and Baby Mingo are near both of these, Colby and Prairie Dogs. The coordinates are for Colby Street in Fort Collins. The Prairie Dog Meadow Natural Area is nearby. If you haven’t been to Mingo yet you should plan a trip to find it.
