I didn't have a lot of time to search for this one, and I didn't have any luck. I searched for 50 feet around where my GPS said it should be but couldn't find it, but it's a beautiful spot down along the creek. There were fresh moose tracks heading down from the dunes into the trees which made me a little nervous, but I didn't run into one.

My puppy Orizaba and I stayed with a friend at his cabin near Gould for three days this weekend. He was hunting for a moose, after finally "drawing" a permit after a couple of decades of annual applications for a tag. Zaba and I spent the time climbing/hiking some ranked peaks in North Park, and finding an occasional geocache. This was one of them. I parked way out near the camping area and we hiked into the cache vicinity. Once there, it took me 30-40 minutes to locate the well-hidden cache. I had, unfortunately, not read the previous logs, so did not have advantage of some of the comments. The cache contents were wet, and I removed two of the three plastic sacks because they were filled with mushy, moldy items. The log paper was in the third of the three, and was wet but still easily signable. I drained the cache container and sealed the plastic bag carefully. Thanks for this nicely hidden cache, GeoGirl01.

I've been eyeing this hide for some time now. So, on this nice autumn day, I loaded up DW and the Cachehounds in the truck and we drove done from Laramie to give it a shot.
We parked about one-third of a mile from GZ and hiked in. Not bad, other than recent snow and melting of the same made it a bit of a muddy hike. We located the "X" about 50' from where my GPSr indicated the cache should be. After some poking around, we had the cache. Log was a bit damp, but signable.
Thanks for the fun.

Found while out with Team Red Rubicon. Took a bit to find, and got bit a bunch by the mosquitos. Still a fun little walk into the trees off the trail. TFTC! :)

Team Red Rubicon had a blast exploring the North Sand Dunes. We drove close to this cache and then hiked down the last steep hill. It took a while to find this one but the corrected coordinates in the logs helped. The mosquitos were brutal here.
Thanks for the cache,

Team Red Rubicon spent the day on and around the North Hills today. We walked the last 400' to the cache. It took a little while but we made the find!
Thanks!

After spending the weekend near Red Cliff, CO, Team Red Rubicon went North to visit the Sand Hills. We all had a blast driving around the Dunes and exploring the vast network of trails, spurs, and area to get lost. We parked about 400 feet from GZ as we didn't want to go down a hill we weren't sure we could get back up. Walked over the river (some walked through) and most went B-line through the trees (I opted to stay on the two-track and see if it got closer). Wandered around for a bit looking for it, then we saw the alternate coordinates and found the X. Then the cache was found - still took quite a bit of looking!
Logbook is still pretty soggy, as is everything else in it.

Playing on the dunes with TRR and decided to make the short hike to the cache.
Took a few minutes, but we finally found it!

Sadly we did not find it this time around. There was a lot of snow and we couldn't find a trail passable enough to get to it. :( Hopefully on our next visit!!!
