Pipe Dream
An easy cache along a spectacular trail just west of Canon City. Take Tunnel Drive west off Highway 50 just around the bend where the highway turns north. Follow Tunnel Drive to the end where you will find the parking area. The cache is only a short distance off the trail, but the terrain is steep. The cache is 0.75 miles from the trailhead.
No hints are necessary. This cache location should be obvious once you get close, but you may want to bring a flashlight to make sure you are grabbing the cache container and not something that you would rather not be grabbing.
If you haven't explored this trail I highly recommend following it another mile to the end. There are several other caches along the way with varying terrain rating and degrees of difficulty.
You can see many remnants of the old water pipeline that ran along, and sometimes under, the trail. The pipeline was abandoned in the 1960s after a more modern facility was built.
This is a small container with enough room for a few trade items. I dropped a travel bug and put some really nice stuff in it to get it started. Please return the container to its hiding place when you are finished.
