Scenic view  Recommended at night  Not Available during winter  Parking available

Parking for southbound only. Evening might be a nice time to grab this one.
Great views, take some pictures and post them. You'll see an old railroad trestle bridge with a beautiful background of Durango and the mountains. I have no specific history on it, but it was for the old Denver and Rio Grande Railroad that ran between Durango and Chama. The route was originally built between 1881 and 1882 in order to carry supplies and people to and silver and gold ore from mines in the San Juan Mountains.

What a fantastic view! The bridge below is really neat. That purple red stripe on the other side of the valley really stands out. It’s weird; wonder why it is so different? I had hoped this would be the first in the six I still need for the World Turtle, but apparently that ended yesterday (despite the website saying it ran “through” the 25th. They should have said “to”. Sloppy! Grr!

Later: It apparently was all the announcements saying the Hidden Creatures hunt ended yesterday that were wrong. I got the World Turtle today after all! Yay!)
