Cactus

Only accessible from westbound I-70. Look for small parking area just off the freeway, then look up! Not difficult and should take less than 15 minutes. You can see the rock the cache is under from the parking area.
This was an easy one when I placed it, but now they have blocked the parking area and put a "No Parking" sign there. If you take the Palisade exit and park on River Road near the tracks, you can follow the tracks back under the freeway, you can fellow the game trail or walk up to the parking area. Adds a bit to the hike, but it's not difficult. If you take the game trail it will take you about an 1 hour.

Spoiler alert!!!!!

Read the hint before you get too far into the search

Saw foot prints that were maid since last rain, but no dnf so I was worried it was gone.

After looking every nook and cranny near GZ., I succumbed to the 95F heat and noon sun and read the hints and logs. Then started investigating the fly rocks and after a few minutes found it.
Container is shot and full of debris. I noticed last log was magic1 in 2014.
Log book good shape in a baggie but will not last long.

Thought would get it on the way down from the Chute, but forgot to bring the rappel gear. So went down to the bottom, then back up to the cache. Lid was pretty all in small pieces. We replaced the plastic log bag and covered the container with a flat rock to keep water out. The final approach is eroding pretty bad, so be careful! TFTC

Quite the little hike, really nice day though...I still don't know how fishlogger made it over the ledge from the top!! TFTC SL

Out with cookielodi for a cool evening hike. I thought this spot was really cool, especially near the dead tree that sits up a little higher from the cache. I can't see how anyone could make it down from the top. SKETCHY! The lid is trashed on the container but everything inside was fine. TFTC SL

We started out to get this and we got it. It is our #400 cache. Got to it and it is in pretty good shape for no one finding it for 933 days. All 3 pens even work yet. It was a nice day for a "wonder if it is even there yet" cache. Took in the view from the cache for a bit. Took the hard way to it and the easy way back to the car. TNLNSLTFTC

I can't imagine that I would ever have called this one "easy"- after finding others above I determined from previous logs that it might be best to head over to this one from below.... expected an easy end to the day... steeper and slipperier than anticipated - at 15 feet I was tempted to just turn back but knew I wouldn't return if I didn't find it now! Got it - toughest one of the day (maybe I was getting tired..) Great day for caching, though!

Came over from the Chute and really had trouble getting down over the ledges. Lots of up and down.. Wind on this side was gusting over 50mph. Not really a good time to be up on the cliffs.. T4TC. SL. T-cockroach and L-spring dog..
