The first time we flew into DIA we were intrigued by the roof.  We actually thought it was some kind of temporary structure - we had never heard of a fabric roof except for a tent.  Now we know what a unique structure it truly is.   The sculpted roof canopy  evokes the majestic, snow-capped Rocky Mountains, the rugged covered wagons of pioneer settlers, and Native American teepees. . The terminal’s peaked roof has become well-known and admired by travelers worldwide. A public survey by the American Institute of Architects ranked the terminal as #4 on its list of “Favorite American Architecture” landmarks.
