Suggested parking off of I70 at the trailhead 39 44.002 105 41.488. My parking is not the closest, but is accessible by any passenger car.
The first part of the hike follows a narrow shelf road (that is closed to motor vehicles) up above and along I70. There are three horizontal mine shafts along this trail, there is even a handrail along one section. Once you reach the other end of the shelf trail, you reach a road. From there take the faint path up until you reach the cache at the foot of Douglas Mountain.

Cache is an ammo can.

We picked up a couple of ticks on this hike.

There is a good chance of spotting sheep near the trailhead.

Did some spring skiing today and decided to cache a little on my way back. Boy, it’s a long ways down to the highway! Thanks for bringing me here!

Found the cache in good shape and enjoyed the view of the lake. Thanks for another cache in an area I wouldn't have visited otherwise.

Greetings from Yukon, Okla., home of tornado alley. We come to Colorado every fall to cache and hike. Getting a few few more caches in before heading back to flatland. Nice hike up to cache and great views! Cache is good, of course no TB as listed.

I parked along Bard Creek Rd to find this and the other 3 caches in the area. I was afraid the climb from the road was going to be tougher or scary but the toughest was the loose gravel at the 1st pitch and rock shelf above it. From there it was a nice trail. I loved the lake below it was lovely.
