Crested Butte Trailhead Series

Welcome to the Crested Butte Trailhead series of caches. There are wonderful hiking and mountain biking trails here in the Gunnison Valley. For our hikers and bikers alike, I designed this series for cachers to log some finds before hitting the trails. The caches are near the trailheads, so no hiking or biking required. However, that does not make them park and grabs.

Whetstone Vista

A rocky, traversing trail that contours the flanks of Mt Crested Butte and connects Upper Loop to Brush Creek Road and many other excellent trails west of town. This is a beautiful, but bumpy ride and a beautiful, rocky hike. This trail is 1 mile long from Brush Creek Road to Upper Loop.

This cache is the third replacement for the original that came up missing before it was found.
