8:29:00 AM Out for a ride on the Highline today. I dropped a Colorado Trail hiker off this morning at Waterton - which was the perfect excuse to go for a ride here! I ended up getting lost ( I didn't realize that the canal wasn't continuous) and explored a new bike path near Chatfield. Luckily, since it was Sunday the construction crew wasn't working and I was able to meet back up wtih the canal.. I also had to yield (actually walk my bike) past some very skittish horses. And I quit for the day when I found a rattlesnake guarding a cache. Lots of adventures! Thanks!

Quick Sunday morning hike along the highline canal trail. The boys were so happy to see a train passing by. The machinist honked and waved to them! They were over the moon!! TFTC, SL

I think I took the long way in, coming from the trailhead to the north. It looks like there is access just south.
