Please read this entire page very carefully before going to find this geocache. This is a tree-climbing cache! Do not attempt to find this cache if you are insecure about heights or climbing in any way! If you have any doubts whatsoever about your ability to climb 30-40 feet up into a tree, please avoid this cache. Ropes/technical gear are optional, but if free-climbing, you are risking injury. You will probably end up with some scrapes, bumps, and bruises either way. A helmet is strongly recommended.
Ok, now that's out of the way. The cache is a pill bottle wrapped in orange duct tape, hanging in the air by a wire from a branch of the tree. It is in plain sight and very obvious (if you look very closely, and from the right angle, you might even be able to see it from the road). I wouldn't want you to climb up the tree and then log a DNF because you couldn't find the container... that would be cruel. I was able to get up to the cache's location fairly easily without using ropes or any kind of technical gear other than a helmet for safety, but it's your call on whether you do that or not. I'm a 5'9", 140-lb person and the branches held up well under me (no shimmying required). If you have any doubts as to whether you'll be able to get up the tree, either ignore this cache or visit GZ and make that decision with a little more information.
Please wear socks and close-toed shoes with good-quality treads, a helmet, and optionally gloves if you don't like your hands getting scraped up. Harnesses, ropes, carabiners, etc. are optional, but they will reduce the risk factor greatly if used correctly.
Very important note: Please don't try to make this a quick find. Take the climb very slowly and with caution. Block out a reasonable amount of time (1-1.5 hours) to get to GZ, get up to the cache, log it, and get back down. This may seem like a lot of time, but it's extremely important that you don't rush getting up this tree. That could lead to serious injury.
In order to open the pill bottle, rotate the cap until the arrow on the cap and the arrow on the body align, and then you can pop it off. When replacing the cap, line up the two arrows, pop the cap back into place, and most importantly, rotate the cap again so the two arrows are unaligned. This prevents the cap from falling off naturally. The cache contains nothing but a log with no markings which shouldn't be difficult to extract. Please be extremely careful not to drop the cap or log! Please bring your own pen. Good luck!
