This cache is placed on top of the Bookcliffs at the end of Ross Ridge overlooking the 21 road and Hunter Canyon area. A couple of people have placed a monument here to commemorate the view which is VERY nice. The views on the trip to the cache looking northeast from the top of the ridge are outstanding. To access the cache, you can turn off 16 Road at N39 20.13 W108 44.83 and go up Coal Gulch Road. It is 13.2 miles one way on well maintained gas well roads to within 0.5 miles of the cache and can be done in a higher clearance 2 wheel drive vehicle. Then it is .3 miles of ATV trail and .2 miles walking. The cache is a Decon container that contains a logbook and pencils.

You can also get here from the Hunter Canyon road (better known as 21 Road) but this is an EXTREME 4x4 road for highly modified vehicles only.

Congratulations to Mommabear on her FTF on Mothers Day!

It was a beautiful day for a jeep trip and a cache. Enjoyed the short hike and the beautiful views of the valley below. TFTC

YIPPEE!!!! Yes, what Blanketchief just said is how I feel. The trip ended well with a shower and careful observation that found nary a tick. We were there at 12:30 PM. TFTC TNLN SL

Eagle Creek and I rode our ATV's to within about 0.3 miles, parked and walked to the cache site. I didn't save our track so I don't know just how far we walked but it was made a lot longer by the gnats and the heat. In spite of the photography discouraging smoke clouding the distant views they still made the trip more than worth it. We took nothing and left nothing but tracks and drops of sweat. TFTC SL

Nice views indeed. We hiked up 21 rd. and did an overnight stay on the ridge. Nice goal for the hike. Not too hard to find the cache, took the Geo Screw T.B. to move it to another cache next weekend. From the log on the web site, looks like last visit was in '09, but there is a June '11 entry in the cache log. Left a couple marbles.

Very nice drive up to the cache site. A little windy for my taste, but a nice cool day. Retrieved T.B. and left geo-coin. TFTC-SL. Don't know what I was thinking, but I signed the log for the 17th.
