A few steps south of the Highland canal.
No wider than a 35mm film canister, but three times as long. The container was rescued from a dismal future as a one liter soda bottle by becoming a bottle for a White Labs beer yeast, and is now embarking on a new life as a cache container. Only two yards off a popular bike/horse/jog path along the Highline Trail, stealth is requisite if this cache is to survive into senescence.
(2/12/10): added a hint.
The Ides of March, 2013: modified the description to eliminate any reference to trees (now gone). Reduced difficulty level from 2.5 to 2.0.
I'll send a spoiler photo when requested by DNFer.
6/26/13: Disabled. The risk aversion legal team seem to be determined to remove all traces of the tree -and it's cache, about which they are presumably ignorant or heedless- but the old stumps are sprouting! Will replace or archive in three weeks or so.
7/31/13: replaced the cache with a new and somewhat different container, same location. Update the difficulty. Please treat the top half gently; it's foam
7/14/14: New container, 3x3x2 "tupperware" type of box, now a "small" in stead of a "micro". Might not be easily accessible during high water in the ditch. If there's water, you could come at it from the south.
6/17/17: replaced with a largish pill bottle.

We enjoyed this geocache placement. Rode out bicycles to it. We were headed yeast and then cut back west for the find! TFTC SL

THANK YOU for keeping this one active! It looks like it's gone through a lot over the years. I have had this on my to-do list for a while as for some odd reason, this month for hides is rare in 2006. Funny how I've found caches for every month in 2002, but not 2006! Until now!! This was the last month I needed to fill in for that year. Now, I just have three more months and 2005 will be filled as well!

When we got to GZ we figured it was going to be a tough search with the undergrowth. Found some likely hosts for the container but nothing. Then, I spotted it a few feet away lying on the ground. Replaced in a stump as that seemed to be the safest place for it for future finders.

Thanks for the hide memnosine. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

Out caching with FeartheFish. Swung by to pick up Benj59 as he needed this cache so we roadtripped up to the location and he made the find. TFTC!
