On the ridge
Pattridge Park

Area has prickly pear cactus and yucca
The park is on the South side of Leyden Road (82nd Ave) between Indiana and Hwy 93 in Arvada. Parking is plentiful. Cache is a 6 inch jar about 600 feet from parking and 60 feet elevation gain. The best way to reach the cache is to go out the gate on the East end of the parking lot. Take the first trail (path) heading up to the South. On the ridge (if it is the weekend) you may see airplanes and drones flying in the airplane park to the Southeast. Turn to the West and follow your GPS. and enjoy the scenery.

Today I went on an expedition to the Arvada/North Golden area to grab geocaches with @2lablovers . They are great to cache with and are usually willing to join me at Sonic for a half price shake after we are done. We took a walk along the western edge of Blunn Reservoir and to get the caches along the trail. On our way back, at dusk, we heard an owl in the distance. I looked up and saw something silhouetted in the top of a dead tree. As we closed in, we saw that it was indeed the owl. We watched him watching us for a while. Tried to take a pic, but he was too far away in the darkness. Next we headed over to Pattridge Open Space. Our day ended a little further south with a rattlesnake scare.
George and I made the hike up to this one. Wow, that's a leg burner. No problems with the cache. TFTC!

Caching with LostinDenver. The guys jumped at the chance to do this 3.5 terrain cache at night. I volunteered to to watch the truck ! They soon returned flushed with victory but did admit that was a steep climb .

Wow, this hike sure got the old ticker going. Some yahoos put a COUCH in half way up the hill. I saw some model airplanes flying around, other than that, there was only one or two other cars in the parking lot this afternoon. I felt that I had the place to myself.
The cache was pretty easy to find, it was in a good spot and everything was nice and dry. Didn't take anything, although there were lots of swag items present.
Thanks for creating this one, and the nice hike in this park!

Replaced container and contents with a 6 inch plastic Jar. Added new logbook, pen, geobadges, and a donkey, horse and sheep for the kids. This area has changed since we first set the cache. Originally there was no fence around the parking lot and only barren rolling hills. Our group has changed also with moves and marriages and the old legs don't move as well. Still a scenic view from the cache. Stretch those legs and enjoy.
