Plenty of parking below the mountain, stay on the road until you pass the cattle guard, a 2 mile hike from where we parked. This was my grandsons first hide. Very nice views of Pikes Peak, Signal Butte, Thunder Butte, Manitou Lake and of course Mt Deception. On the way down we saw what we percieved to be a (vacated) bear hibernation den. We found Lost Yet on our way down, last find was July 2013.

Came in from fallen tree cache and basically followed the gps thru the trees till we finally came on the road .. then went up till the big turn around sign .. “go back .. mad dog etc “ skirted the house and came across this flat rock area .. great spot to find a cache !! Great view .. been up here over 10 years ago .. tftc

It has been a while since this one was found, and I'm happy to report that the cache and contents are in great condition. It was a nice little hike to the top of the hill, only a couple hundred feet elevation gain and a little over a mile r/t from where we parked. The road wasn't that bad today and the little Rav 4 made it with no problem. Eagle-eyed daughter found it right away. It was tucked away, but had no camouflage over it, so we corrected that. Working from my GPSr (instead of a phone), I didn't have the other Mt. Deception cache loaded so we'll have to come back for it. Took nothing, left yen and bell, signed log. Great view of the backside of Devil's Head, Pike's Peak, Mt. Herman, Thunder Butte, Sheep's Nose, etc. from the summit. Thanks for bringing us up here, and for placing this cache so that we can play! Gets a favorite for being a lonely, beautiful cache.
