This 4-stage multicache puzzle is an homage to my all-time favorite multicache -- Bridges and Arches of Central Park. We don't have bridges or arches at this park, but we DO have benches and piers.

Each stage requires you to solve a puzzle to find the coordinates to the next stage. The required TOTT to complete this multicache will be found at each stage. Please don't take the TOTT with you to the next stage (or if you do, please return it before leaving the park, so the next cacher can enjoy the puzzle as well). Enjoy your stroll through the Elaine T. Valente Open Space.

We found stage one; however, we were not able to solve stage one's puzzle.

It took us a bit to solve all the puzzles. They are not easy ones to do in the field. We were able to make it all to work out and yes the difficulty needs to be raised.

Thank you Miles to Geo for the suggestion to increase the difficulty of this multicache. I have changed it from a 2.5 to a 3.5 difficulty.

I agree with Sqweeter, that two heads are better than one to solve this cache. Lord Mike and I were able to get it done in around an hour. Once we figured out each step it got easier but it took some work. I'm glad we got it found but this is not a quick multi-cache. I wonder if the difficult level should be a little higher.

Yes indeed, just as lasouthpaw said, this one may have been a walk in the park (literally) for the veteran puzzlers, but it was quite the challenge for us. I was surprised that it still didn't have an FTF when I looked at the page a whopping 4 days after it was published, so I thought maybe I had a chance. After struggling along with very little progress, decided to give lasouthpaw a call and she swung by. Still took some back & forth footwork & brain work before the next day the final was in hand. Two heads are better than one! Thanks peace love pi for a fun multi & the pathtag! co- {FTF} 18:35

Whew! That was a hard earned co-FTF with sqweeter!

For experienced puzzle solvers, this probably won't be too hard. But... sqweeter and I are more towards the novice side... so solving this took multiple trips, sheer determination and brute force. Yesterday afternoon I got a picture of the first puzzle and a "what do you make of this?" from sqweeter. I said I don't know but if you want I'll come over and see what we can put together. He got three words by the time I got there. We weren't having much luck, so I put out the suggestion to walk around the park checking benches and piers. Yeah... we got a nice walk, saw some migrating pelicans, and the little one threw rocks in the water but we made zero progress on the cache. We managed to piece together the rest of the coords that night. Second trip to the park and on to the next part of the puzzle. Took a pic and headed out to do the solving. I got my geek on and decided an Excel spreadsheet would make this easier. I don't know if it did or not, but it made me feel better. Bribed the kiddo with a lunchable and some ice cream, and we were on to the third stage and the next trip to the park. I couldn't wait another day to get to the final, we'd have to solve stage 3 as a field puzzle. So I brought my laptop. Got puzzle #3 and pulled the computer out. The wind started and a little rain, the kiddo got bored, but gosh darn it we were making this find. Finally hit paydirt and we were off, racing the wind and the rain. The kiddo got her second wind and helped make the find. Unrolled the blank log and did the happy dance!!! Started racing back to the car, little drops hitting us here and there. Had to stop and pick a bouquet of lilacs on the way back to the car. I'm addicted to them. One smell and the little one was hooked, too. She insisted I share a few with her. Thank you for the pathtag and for the awesome {*FTF*} adventure! Find #2407.
