A couple of years ago I did Animas cache with a caching buddy, and that was quite a slog up a trail and across country. I was anticipating something similar here, but found it quite a bit easier. Since my non-caching hubby was my companion this time, I'm glad of that, because I didn't want to try his patience too much!

I really wanted this old one. It's the oldest active cache in Colorado that I didn't yet have; although I got the Escoffier 10-oldest-in-Colorado challenge when I got Animas, one of those was since archived and this is now #10, so I guess this just keeps my Escoffier up to date. Also, I'm closing in on my quad Jasmer, and this leaves me with just two months to go (11/00 and that pesky 8/00 in Sweden, a trip I haven't yet planned).

So yay, mission for today accomplished, and as always, TFTC!

Last cache of the day. We are ready for a relaxing evening at camp! 5 caches, one I waded across the river for, one was a short walk off the trail, Animas cache and this one as well as a drive to Delores. Epic day with Lemonheadmafia! Tftc!

Thanks for the oldie! Found on a nice hike with geokid norbert28 and new geopuppy Riley. We're on a nice trip around the SW part of the state. Left 2 tbs and a pathtag, picked up 1 tb.

Thanks for the cache!! Our summer family vacation was this weekend and we are heading to Mesa Verde. Along the way I selected a handful of caches to collect new counties and other points of interest. This one was of special interest as it now fits the role of being one of the 10 oldest caches in the state. I couldn't pass it up. I regretfully did have to pass up the other oldie here in Durango as time didn't permit the hike. But I was sure to get this one. We parked down below, but the temps were too high for the family to go with me on this one so I ran up the hill solo. Wow! Yes... 98° out in the sun! Sweated like crazy for this short of a distance. Made a find on the way up, found this one as I could see it from a distance. Signed and stamped the log, dropped a TB, and jogged back to the car with AC and water!! Beautiful scenery up here! Nice to see these old ones stick around!

This was the real objective of our walk up the mountain. Needed this cache towards the D.O.C. La Plata County Challenge (GC1RVHJ). Had plans on trying for the Soul City Downtown also, but it was warmer than we expected, so settled for this one and the Soul City duo on another day. TFTC.
