This is the start of a series of American Race Tracks in which some are defunct and some are still going. I have spent a great deal of my adult life racing cars of all types and so this will be fun revisiting the racetracks of yesteryear. Julesburg Dragstrip

Julesburg Dragstrip is a 1/4 mile NHRA dragstrip which uses the Julesburg Municipal Airport, located between Julesburg and Ovid, Colorado.


I can remember when we used to race there they would stop the races if needed so a plane could land.

There is parking on the shoulder of 138 as long as the races aren't going.

This was a fun one and the first of its kind that we've seen. No one was around and it was a quick grab. Wish we could be here to watch the action at the track! We are from Washington state and here for a wedding in Sterling. We stayed at Jumbo Reservoir which was the farthest east we'd traveled in Colorado (until now!). This was also our first time caching in Nebraska. Enjoyed the history and the thunderstorms (we don't have lightning/thunder as ferocious as you do here)! We found this cache with my cousin Lynn, and her BF, Billy (his first time caching). Thanks for the effort in placing this cache!

I had to replace the original container with another one that is more fitting with the theme of race cars and wheels and tires so I hope you have fun finding it.

Visiting from Michigan. Caching with Jola500 on route home from attending the Going APE Event. Brought MaxB's Escorted Travel Bug Group Tour to Find cache and work on the Wyoming and Nebraska County Challenges.

We were so close to Colorado, just had to make a side trip so Jola500 could get her 2nd & 3rd Colorado caches. TNLN

Woo hoo! Lots of action on the track this afternoon! Pretty distracting when you're trying to focus on finding a cache. At least we looked more like car-watchers than geocachers.

Finally nabbed the cache and got it signed and put back during a lull in the traffic. Thanks for the fun stop!
