After the last couple of logs, we went and checked things out. The log had been wet (though everything else looked OK). So, we replaced not only the log but also the cache to avoid this happening again.

Found this while getting the N38W109 confluence. Did not sign log because it was wet and moldyFrown
. This area seemed pretty flat but we were over 7400 feet in elevation.
