I am working towards completing my D/T grid. This is a goal that I honestly wasn't sure I'd ever hit when I first started caching. All those empty squares mocked me for quite some time. Starting a little over a year ago though I started to make some serious progress. Finally, as I'm nearing the end of 2018, this goal is within reach! For some, this goal has been reached quickly, and several times over. That's not been the case for me, and I'm just thrilled to be so close to completing the grid for the first time!
Earlier in the day I hiked around Green Mountain and got one of the combinations I needed - a 1.5/4.5. That brought me down to three open spots. I had this and another like it on my list to do in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I only had time for this one as I had to pick up my son from school.
My daughter was gracious enough to join me on this adventure. We were benefited by having an idea of where to start. Unfortunately, I made a wrong turn to get to that spot (I made a bad assumption about the easier way to get there) and it took a few minutes longer than it should have to get started.
It was a pretty straight shot towards GZ but once we got close, we had to be wrong a couple of times before we got it right. In fact, at one of our spots of assumption we thought we had found it but apparently it was someone else's idea of hiding something down here. Thankfully there was nothing in what we found but it was still kind of weird.
Anyway, it was a great feeling getting to the actual final. Although I almost completely soaked my shoes getting the cache because the area was acting in the manner it was designed to be used in. Imagine that! Thankfully my boots are waterproof and all was fine.
Thanks for the hide PayMeCache. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

This was the final of many stops on a fun caching day - it fit right in with the crazy variety of things we'd done (some successfully, some less so) and did not disappoint. Cute little trinkets in the container! Thanks for another reason to explore!

Ok, so I kinda hate these geocaches, I decided to commit and grab this one. Good news is I was able to get my bearings a few times to get to the final.

Every now and then you have that magical day when you find everything quickly. Today I went in search of caches from some of the best hiders in the area: T5M, PMC, FtF. Found everything today in 5 minutes or less (which just means the "I can't find anything" day is coming...).
Another cacher told me the other day that they "work smarter not harder". That certainly applies here. Brought a non-standard TOTT and was done in less than 5 minutes. Fills a D/T square. Great hide worth a fav. TFTC!

We had to think about it a little but we figured it out and went for it. Nice way to get the day started with COpackrat. TFTC

Went for a drive on a very nice warm and sunny mid-spring day with "animjason" - this was the last of six geocaches that we found along the way. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !
