2nd cache on the way to Brown’s Park. TFTF

I found this nice geocache during a multi-day geo-run I called “Operation Tora” to make finds in the last four counties (North Western Counties) I need to complete the state of Colorado, make limited excursions into Wyoming and Utah for selected caches, and meet other geocaching objectives. During the planning phase, I decided to give this cache a try because it looked fun, it had a decent difficulty / terrain rating, and it helped me meet a challenge cache requirement.
I get what we are supposed to do here for this cache, and these types are fun when placed sparingly. I even have a reputation for writing entertaining logs, because when you are K Trackers you don’t have to lie to come up with wild stories. I have to admit I am getting exhausted trying to write logs from Operation Tora. Since returning, I’ve been sitting here doing nothing but following up with a few COs and writing logs. I currently have 37 pages…37 pages of logs (55 when done), 103 renamed pictures and still over a hundred caches and 75 pictures to go. Normally I have so many bizarre things happen to me I don’t have to lie for a good story, but this trip was just tough and less entertaining. I did earn some karma points near this spot while driving back this way.
A young rancher’s truck broke down and couldn’t call his brother to come help him for 6 hours. When the brother arrived, he promptly got his vehicle stuck in the soft sand, so they sat here for another 2 hours. I rolled up with 1 bar of service, and they could call their Dad…who would arrive in another 3½ hours. After some conversation, I eventually left them with some additional food, water, and their thanks. Normally that kind of stuff happens to me and is the material I’ll write about, but I was happy that I got to help instead. Like I said, when you are K Trackers, you don’t have to lie.
I did lay the groundwork and put in some mental effort to weave a great tale, but like I said, my mind is currently pulp so I’m very sorry to disappoint. I missed a great opportunity to take a picture of the stuck recovery vehicle because I was thinking about a thread where my truck breaks down…a missed opportunity. Proof that I am mentally tired. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find and bringing me to this cool spot, TFTC.
Oh, before I forget, I wrote myself a note to remind me I’m supposed to tell the CO to come out here and do maintenance on this cache. I had cell service down the road, but not here; and there is a dead body at GZ.

(FTF) Well, I was passing thru Craig, on my way South, when I saw that the road was closed due to a bridge collapse. Yeah, the bridge over the Yampa had a major fail, completely falling into the river, taking a big rig with it. So, now I had to detour further west. Ah...all is not bad tho...an unfound cache down the road This one is definitely on par thigh the high D/T rating. Started out pretty easy, but the closer I got to ground zero, the tougher and scarier the climb got. At one point, I really wished I had brought my climbing gear. I didn’t, so I just had to climbed on!!! Finally made it and was rewarded with a clean log to sign A warning to future geo-adventures...watch for RATTLESNAKES!!!! I put my hand right into a nest of vicious baby vipers!!! Also saw a Puma checking me out!! So much fun regardless!!!! TFTA&TC!!!!
