You can see the reservoir from here. You can also see Raleigh Peak - there is a cache on top of it. It's quite a ways away.
This cache is meant to be an adventure to get to. Here is how I got there. I rode my bike from the Waterton Canyon trail head to the Strontia Springs Dam area where I rested for a few minutes. Then I continued up the Colorado Trail to Lenny's Rest. Right behind the bench there is a trail leading right up the hill. I pushed the bike up the trail a ways and leaned it against a tree. then I followed the trail another .35 miles to a spot I liked where I could see the reservoir way below. Then I hid the cache below a modest rock outcropping.

The cache is a small lock and lock and it originally had a genuine Red Jeep Travel Bug in it.

When I hiked this trail above Lenny's Rest, I saw nobody else at all. I suspect some CT through hikers might camp up there but not too far up the trail. The trail is quite steep at first but then it levels out. When I was there it was easy to follow but got faint after a while.

Had a delightful walk in the canyon, and up the hill on the trail - this was the first of seven geocaches that I found along the way. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

Found with animjason while on an epic bike ride with animjason and cajrrman. It was a tiring, but epic caching day.

Loved the view. Thanks for bringing us up here. Wish I could add another fave!

My tenth of thirteen caches found with Sissadies and cajrrman. He invited us on a bike ride today at Waterton. Our first time bike riding in years, that was a brutal but fun intro since we went about 16+ miles round trip. Definitely need better bike seat, ouch! Also pretty sure I accidentally put tomorrow's date on our log, oops.

This one was the main goal of the day. The CO was great at motivating us to keep on pushing forward. Had a great day, and took photo of the great view of Raleigh and the reservoir. Gets a fave.

This felt more like a 4.5, or maybe even a 6 lol!

I checked on all my Waterton caches today. This one was fine. The view is as good as ever and it's still a challenge to find the right way to get to this cache.

Of course after making the up hill trek to Above Lenny's Rest, it was pretty much a cake walk to make it on up to this one. I found a few more openings in the scrub, maybe a bit of a trail, and soon I was at GZ. I had to use the hint again & found this one also safe & sound after a couple of dormant years. At first I wasn't sure I was going to see the reservoir, but then I leaned just enough & there it was, part of it anyway. If I didn't have my horse waiting for me way down the hill, I would have spent more time exploring & looked for a better view. I think that's the only way the public will ever be able to see that body of water.

Well, if your goal was to make it an adventure to get to this, you succeeded. Big time.

My adventure began before sunrise on my bike.

I came across a deer.

There was a backpacker sleeping right on the trail on one of the switchbacks. There was another right past Lenny's View, so I went the other way to My Home Brewery II.

After my cache I decided to go through the guy's camp to up toward this one. It is not easy to get to. Lots of thick vegetation to fight through.

On my way back down, I practically ran into a bunch of big Horn sheep.

Amazing trip all before 8am.

I took a geo-coin.
