Always wished there was a geocache in this area, so my 4 yr. old daughter and I went and hid one. Cache is located near the JQS road northwest of Rifle. For even more adventure you could continue up the last mile of the road to the top of the Roan Plateau and then follow the Roan Cliffs and Cow Creek roads back into Piceance Creek. Please don't go after the cache if there is snow or rain in the area.
Cache is an ammo can. It was originally stocked with a good mix of stuff. Some toys from tootsie's personal stash and some geocoins and travel bugs.

Have fun and make sure to enjoy the expansive views.
