Time for another CITO!

I was at Redstone Park yesterday and noticed a decent amount of trash around the pond there. Not good for the wildlife, not good for the water, not good visually.

I will provide bags. I strongly recommend that you bring your own grabber tools and gloves. Most of the trash is right at the edge of the water. Hence the terrain rating.

Come to pick up trash, stay to play with your kids on the play structure! There are two options for parking, one off of Foothill Canyon Blvd. I DO NOT recommend that lot as it's much smaller. And will be filled with tennis players and parents there for whatever sportsball activity is occurring on the field that day. The parking lot off of W Town Center Drive will be much easier to park in and should have plenty of room.

Thank you for the CITO! I regret wearing shorts, but I thought that it was going to be warmer. My son, myself, and EasternGirls found many pieces of trash. My son said the biggest one he found was a mucky tennis ball. I remember this park from when my kiddo was much younger and enjoyed going to parks. We used to toss bread to the ducks and geese, but learned today that that is a very bad idea and that they need grain instead. Lesson at a CITO, heh.

Only my second ever CITO event and always feel good after doing them. Did some laps around the pond, the tennis courts and the soccer fields - got a decent amount of trash picked up. Thanks to Benj59 for organizing and hosting! After that I spent the next 4-5 caching around Chatfield/Roxborough so it was a good day as I'm trying to get to 100 finds in April to earn that reward. Thanks again!

WOO-HOO! What a nice way to spend the morning; picking up trash and meeting up with new and old friends. I was surprised at how clean the park already was, but we all managed to fill our bags at least part way, and surely left the place in better shape than we found it. Thanks Benji for yet another fun event with a good turnout, glad Boone and the kiddos got to meet!

Yoohoo! My first CITO event.
Benj59 made it an easy one: was harder to find the trash than findng geocaches in the area.
Nice clean (and now even cleaner) park where I cached before.
All of us ventured out with a bag and returned an hour later with a halfful bag of trash.
Great to be able to help clean up out game bord.
Thanks for organizing Benj59!
And fun to chat with know and new friends.

Was only able to attend briefly. Used to come here quite a bit when my son was little. He caught a fish at a lesrnnto fish event but the fish fell off the pole when he was reeling it in. Disappointing how many cigarette butts i found by the playground. Thanks for hosting this benj57

Glad JrPuppyPaw and I could make it today. There wasn't too much trash, but we found a good bit. JrPuppyPaw had fun fishing stuff out of the water and we picked up lots of evidence from a Nerf gun war. Thank you for hosting and we can't wait for the next one!

Another successful CITO! Thanks to all who showed up. No, there wasn't a TON of trash. But there were also a lot of people and we all managed to get some good trash picked up. I love hosting these and seeing all the engagement from the community. Until next time!
