Special Tool Required  Teamwork Required

This geocache is part of a series of sequential wherigos. This is intentionally difficult. This series will not be for everyone. In order to be able to complete this series you will have to do each cache in order. You are not required to find all of the caches but you will still need to go in order. If you do complete all 30 Wherigos, you will be rewarded with a bonus cache.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

For this series, we would recommend that you have at least one other cacher with you. At a minimum you will need more than one device. You will also absolutely need at least one TOTT. This series is difficult in both the operation of the cartridge and the retrieval of the geocaches. You have been warned.

Since their publication I’ve wanted to chase after these "Pen" wherigos. Today my puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo finally hit the grasslands and went through the series. A number of the pens need to be replaced, some being broken into small plastic fragments. Thin plastic is not innocuous to bright sun! Several were found lying in the open several feet away from their obvious hiding locations. I placed them back where they belong. The full set of caches took longer than it should have...Why? Well, I discovered that if you "quit" in the series you need to start over again at the beginning. Alas, at Pen 27 I had my phone in my pocket as I found and signed the log for this wherigo. Something must have pressed against the “quit” and the entire series was reset to the beginning!! So back to the start I drove, where I started through the entire series again! The second time through actually went fairly quickly, because I had already found the caches and had signed the logs, so only needed to get within the final zone of each to be given the info for the next cache in the series.

I enjoyed the challenge of the series, and was pleased to get directional instructions for the Bonus when I finished Pen 30. Getting to it took some effort. Thanks for these unique “pens”! I especially enjoyed Pen 25.
