An easy access and an easy find at eye level. "Don't over-think this one," as my Geocaching buddies like to say. Many other caches are located in Chalk Creek Canyon. And great (paid) camping areas are available in season. The Colorado Trail is nearby. Bring your camera for outstanding views.
Up Chalk Creek Canyon near several other caches as you travel toward St. Elmo, from the lower elevation of the Arkansas Valley. 30' from a gate on the r.r.grade. Park a few paces away, or have a nice walk, parking further east toward Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. In fact make a day of it, enjoying the pools there or the hot and cold water mix in Chalk Creek at the resort. YES!

Hiked a while this morning to the rail trail. It was a great morning to hike. Weather was good and sunny was shining. Located the cache and then walked the trail for a short while. TFTC

Found this lonely cache while at Mt. Princeton for a wedding. First find in Colorado! My husband and I enjoy hiking, so we headed towards the rail trail to check out the hiking and the geocaches. The snow made for slow going so we didn't get too far, but it was a beautiful hike. The cache was dry and easily found. Container could use some TLC. As previous cachers have mentioned, the original container has obviously been replaced.

I have been wanting to do some caching along the old railroad grade here for a long time and today was the day. I drove the road until it ended and hiked the rest of the way finding caches along the way. I made the find here at 9:28 am. Thanks for the cache!

The hint doesn't really apply anymore. Easy find.

This one was the last one for the day for us. We started at Cascade Fall and knew we had to walk all the way back to our car. At this point we were both sunburnt and tired. Just glad we carried enough water with us. We appreciated to find an easy one at the end. The container was almost out in the open and we tried to hide it a little bit better. Tftc.
