Located in the Browns Canyon National Monument in the Arkansas River Valley with 360-degree views of the Rocky Mountains.

Browns Canyon National Monument was designated as such by President Barack Obama under the Antiquities Act on February 19, 2015. It has more than 21,500 acres of pristine rivers, canyons, and forest — including the San Isabel National Forest. This premier section of the Arkansas River is also part of the longest section of Gold Medal river in Colorado. In addition to unmatched whitewater boating and angling opportunities, the monument offers opportunities for backcountry solitude, horseback riding, hiking, camping, nature watching, photography and stargazing.

This cache will take a little bit of hiking and hunting but is very fun to find. The primary trailhead is near the Ruby Mountain Recreation Site- if you spend a little more time in the area, you can find garnets and Apache Tears.  Muggle's may be in the area - be careful.

Our second cache of the morning. We set off with a goal of hiking to the nearby caches on our way to the River Bench Trail (6045A). However, we would end up deciding to stretch the hike out and bushwhack from 6045A to River Access (6045B) and turning this into an 8.5 mile loop. A long hike, but a lot of fun.

We grabbed this cache at the beginning of our journey. Quick find. The trail near this cache splits with the main trail going to the left on the way up, about 50' from ground zero and a side trail going around to the right. The two trails do come back together though. Cache in good shape. Thanks.
