Update Nov 2, 2012: final container replaced with a new one; same coords, 5 feet away from original. Easy 3 stage multi cache in the Patty Jewett neighborhood. Coordinates above are for stage 1, which is beyond the entrance gate to the Patty Jewett Golf Course, which is gated; the gate you must enter through opens at 8am. The cache name comes from what is at each stage: Golf course, then a park, then (just behind) a shopping area that also has services for seniors: G, P, and S.
Our first multi cache; no tricks or gimmicks, just some simple math to get you to each successive stage. You might need paper and a pen or pencil.

All three stages are at N 38 51.(something) and W 104 48.(something) and all three stages are within about one mile of each other as the crow flies. Parking is available within yards of each stage.

Stage 1: "Welcome to Patty Jewett", the third oldest public golf course west of the Mississippi River. Near the top of the sign here, you will find a four digit number. Subtract 902 from this number to get the last three digits of the latitude for stage 2. Now look due north – toward the left side of the building there is the entrance to the Pro Shop, and there is a three digit number over the arch at the entrance. Add 61 to this number to get the last three digits of the longitude for stage 2. (If you need the coordinates for where this three digit sign is, they are N 38 51.528 W 104 48.197)

To make sure you have the correct coordinates for stage 2, if you add the last three digits of the latitude and longitude for stage 2 – add the six individual digits -- you should get a sum of 40.

Stage 2: This park is great for the kids; there is a playground, baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, a picnic shelter, and a trail that encircles the park. There are also bathrooms but they are sometimes locked. At your stage 2 coordinates, you will find a sign. Not counting the “City of Colorado Springs” header, the uppermost word on this sign is in 8 BIG letters. Using the letter equals a number exchange (A=1, B=2 … J=10, K=11), take the FIRST two letters of this 8 letter word, and you will get a three digit number. Add 87 to get the last three digits of the latitude of stage 3, the final. Take the LAST two letters of this 8 letter word, and you will get a three digit number. Subtract 5 to get the last three digits of the longitude of stage 3, the final.

To make sure you have the correct coordinates for stage 3 (the final), if you add the last three digits of the latitude and longitude for stage 3 – add the six individual digits -- you should get a sum of 7.

Please re-hide it well, so muggles don't spot it !

Good luck, and happy caching !

This was an AWESOME and tricky multicache, we had a great time finding it over 2 days. Signed the log, took a prize, and left a prize. TFTC!

Made it to the final coordinates, and ran out of time. We'll be back!

Fun multi in Patty Jewett area. Didn’t have enough time to walk but still had a good time. Thanks 3 Williams Kids for the multi.

We came down to Colorado Springs to target a new virtual, and fight off the alien invasion. Cached with BearAdair and Bhob.

I always target multi caches too. I made the rookie mistake of looking for a container at WP1 before reading more haha! Then it was smooth sailing after that. All in great shape.

Little bit of Texas here in Colorado for a few days as we head towards Wyoming to drop our son off for college. Doing some site seeing and adding a few smileys to our map. Thanks for maintaining and placing the cache.

Picking up some caches in Colorado Springs as I move to Wyoming. This was a very nice multi-cache with the gang, the weather is definitely a lot nicer then Houston Tx.

A local cacher and I were out yesterday collecting a variety of caches and this was one of them. Very strangely, but the time we got to the final we noticed that everything was very wet. It could have been from a sprinkling system, but it seems to be more general than that. If it rained, it was very localized since we didn't have many drops until we were almost finished caching in late afternoon.

Nice multi. TFTC

Felt funny to be driving into the golf course as I don't play that game. Found a parking spot pretty easily and walked back to the necessary location to get the numbers. On to the next stage. That was pretty easy. Thanks for including the check sums. The final gave me fits --my GPSr wouldn't settle down, but with much perseverance I did get it to lead me to the right place. Thanks for hiding this cache.

TFTC I came down from Woodland Park to find some caches with geobuddy, nicehice. We are working on a variety of types today.
I was interested in doing this multi cache since I have found many other caches by the CO. As I was working my way through the stages, nicehice kept saying he thought we had already done this cache. When we found the final we discovered that he had done this cache by himself four years ago. It was good to have his company today.

This is very well done and still in good shape. It gets a Favorite point from me,
