May require wading  Not Available during winter  Not Wheelchair accessible  Parking available

This little wooded spot has changed so much since I first discovered its existence in elementary school, and it continues to change to this day. It was one of my favorite places to walk to. I was even there when my father and grandfather found the other caches that used to be here. I have been contemplating placing a new cache here for a really long time, and have visited periodically to get a feeling for the area. There hasn't been a cache here for almost 10 years. I just can't let the idea of a cache here go, no matter how wet it gets. So I decided to leave one here anyway because it's begging to host a cache again!

You WILL have to deal with some somewhat unforgiving terrain in here, so I would bring some boots that can handle water and deep, squishy mud, and a good towel or rag for drying off whatever might be necessary. Or perhaps you will want to brave it barefoot. Don't drop your devices in here! This container can hold some small swag. It will likely be very difficult in the winter.

As always, be weary of muggles, as many of them do use the dirt path that goes past this area. Please replace the container as intended.

Just to make it more fun decided to wait until after it snowed. I always have the proper TOTT for this in the car so walked out and changed footwear and waded out towards GZ. After the GPS settled down I moved enough snow to find the container. Nice beaver dam just upstream. My best guess is that this one will wash away during the summer storms unless it is better secured. TFTC!

Very swampy, but I came prepared! Signed log. Thanks for the adventure and the cache!

My son and I showed up as LiD was signing the log. He graciously allowed us a co-FTF. Nice area! I was really surprised by the beaver dam, so cool! Thanks!

CO-[FTF] 04-11-2021 at 4:54 pm with Mapperist. We just finished cleaning up after our 1 year old grandson twins birthday party when I checked my phone and saw a new cache had published just a few miles from home. I bribed the Mrs into heading out to look for it. We pulled up and I read more about the cache. Oops, I wasn't expecting or planning for that! That DT rating? Must be a tree climb, right. Wrong. As we walked toward the GZ it reminded me of my childhood. I lived in Denver, near a strip of fields and a creek that ran from the center of Denver, out to Golden.
We were about 15 feet from the GZ when the Mrs refused to go any further. A good sign that the D/T is an appropriate. So I headed in. This is what caching is about to me - exploring cool places and discovering nearby ones I didn't know existed. Made the find and opened the container to discover a blank log. So Mapperist and I put our names on there before tucking it back where it belongs.
More like this please! Thanks for the D/T and the cache! Here's a fav.
