The Aimless Wanderers are at it again, wandering aimlessly through the mountains of Colorado. This has resulted in yet another geocache at the end of a difficult but scenic hike.

This cache is hidden on the summit of Stone Mountain and will require a hike of about 4.5 miles (one way) to get to GZ. There is a scramble over rounded rocks and boulders of about 100' to the top. The view from the summit is an awesome 360º panorama. Access is provided from the Round Mountain trail.
Since this will be such a difficult hike (7632' elevation) we have added a few photos to entice you.

Extended my Sheep Mountain hike to bag a few more caches. Nice up here on the summit, and good views! Thanks for the hide!

I had already gone for three other caches before finally getting to this one (struck out on two of them), so I was pretty exhausted already. Happily, the trail to the base of Stone Mt is fairly flat. Clambering up those boulders was a bit of a challenge though, but the view was worth it. Quick find. Cache is in good shape, and it gives me one of my missing D/Ts. Thanks!

After grabbing hill 7699, of course I had to grab this one. For some reason this one took me quite some time to find. My GPS had me spot on with all the other caches today, but put me off about 35ft on this one. With being that far off in this type of rocky area, the hunt was on. Finally stumbled upon it while heading up to eat my PB&J on a rock. What a beautiful view from up here! never would have found this place if it was for the cache, so thank you.
