***Congratulations to A1tree as the FTF! WOW, that was fast ;)***

Great area to view sunsets, wildlife and the train! Explore the area as there are many hiking/biking trails in this general area. Watch out for the cactus though!

This is our very first cache placed! We decided as a family that time was well over due as this is our 10th year caching and we've never placed a cache! So to remedy that we picked this spot where we love to take walks and occasionally watch a passing train go by. which is where the name came from, picked by our two jr cachers of course! The trail to the cache is easy terrain although there are lot's of cactus to ruin your day.

Hike is 2.26 miles round trip from the parking lot.

After leaving the parking lot you'll travel through a large field behind some houses (one of which is ours so the cache will be easy to maintain!). Take a right on Valley View dr and continue until you reach Sunlight. From there take a left up the gravel road. Once you reach the top of the hill you'll see the trailhead marker on your left. Continue on this trail through the small valley. On the other end you'll come to a fork in the trail, one goes up (a very steep hill) and the other goes back to the right (West). Take the trail to the West, follow this along the barbed wire fence until you reach another fork. Another small less traveled trail heads to the right and slightly downward. You'll be traveling towards the river now and should be able to see the train tracks. Follow your GPS and you'll find the way. Please be careful as there are lots of cactus in this area, keep an eye on little ones and our 4 legged friends.

Depending on what time of day you come here you'll be treated to a beautiful sunset and possibly some wildlife. We often see a group of 6 deer in this area hanging out. We love this area and frequent it often and hope you enjoy it as well. Feel free to upload your sunset pictures to the log for all to see!

No Choo-Choos this morning. I bush-whacked, or should I say cactus-whacked, in a more or less direct route to the cache. Quick find and I was glad I brought along some water. The directions you provided made a lot more sense on the return trip. Signed log. Took the bitsy fork lift and left a golf pencil with eraser. Thanks for the fun!!!!
