Close to Denver. Near Red Rocks, south of I70 at the geological
cut.
This is a nice little hike of about one mile each way. There is a
good trail. Take the kids, or ride your mountain bike. Great views
to the east and west. Park in the Stegosaurus lot at N 39 41.851 W
105 12.190. Trail head is at the south end of the lot. You start at
about 6434 feet elevation and gain about 250 feet, most of it in
the first quarter mile. Watch out for mountain bikers. You might
enjoy visiting the dinosaur tracks along Alameda on the southeast
side of this ridge, and also the museum in the valley east of it.
While at this parking lot you might like to walk along the
geological cut and see the layers of the history of the earth.
Logbook #3 was full on 4/11/2012 so we put in logbook #4. Left #3 because it is fun to read.

Container is an ammo box.

Not too hard to get to, once you have made the climb up to its location. Another beautiful day in Colorado.

Hard to believe I couldn't spot a regular size container in this spot...since I'm the second to DNF it, perhaps a visit from the CO is in order?

Although I’ve been to dinosaur ridge a few times, I still have yet to pick up all of the caches I want. I was grateful to have the opportunity to return and continue my “nibble“ strategy to clear the area. Today my goal was to pick up the remaining caches (that I want) on the northern portion of the ridge. Hiking hogbacks is always fun because you have the opportunity to get simultaneous good views on two sides. Despite the low difficulty ratings, all of my finds on the ridge today were hard fought. I was grateful to make the find on this one. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

Coords were off for me too. Soon made the find, though. Thanks!

A little more difficult find than we were hoping. Located around 40 ft to the west of the coordinates. It may have been a GPS unit issue. TFTC!

Found, but way off from where the GPS says it's located. Thankfully someone else posted a similar screenshot. (Need new pen for log)

It was good to know the coords were 40 ft off, as there wasn't anything there at GZ. Last cache on the ridge before turning around to head back south to the dinosaur ridge road cut on a warm and quiet evening on the ridge. Continuing Planetary Pursuit. TFTC
