This is NotBritish's first hide so we thought we would make it a good one. To grab this letterbox you will have to work for it.

You are looking for this camouflaged 40 cal ammo can which has been started with some decent SWAG and a custom Memfis Mafia stamp and logbook. To reach your goal, you will first have to cross this river. Once you cross the river, you will need to climb past the peak you see in this photo. Unfortunately, you are not done there because this is not the peak you are aiming for. You will have to keep hiking. To locate the bounty you seek look for the rock that NotBritish is standing on in this photo. While it is not required that you have a geocaching buddy for this cache, we highly recommended it for your safety.

Congratulations to PixelMagic for FTF.

We are heading to Roosevelt National Park near Fort Collins. The goal is to enjoy the mountains and do a nice trail. Finally, the weather is good on a Sunday. I have two colleagues who are going to find their first geocache today.

This hike was too big of a challenge. First we tried to cross the river without getting wet. But we failed of course. That was fun. Then we tried to get to the other hill but the bushes are hard to navigate on a steep slope. This walk needs to be prepared properly and will take most of your day. We managed to get to the first peak from the river. It also depends on the route you choose. Ours came from the south which was very steep and challenging. Nevertheless we had an experience we will not forget. Thank you for that.

Thank you NotBritish for this cache and maintaining it. Cheers, Huizeblauw from The Netherlands. Find 2524 on 8 okt. 2017.

I've had this on my wish list for awhile, and was waiting for the river's flow to drop for a safe crossing. The water was numbingly cold, but the steep slog uphill warmed me up quickly. Unfortunately there were lots of patches of snow left from the recent first snowstorm of the season, which made it more treacherous than normal. I had no major spills on the way up, although I did a little "skiing" on the way down, and made the round-trip without leaving any DNA on the hill Smile. Enjoyed the great views from the top, and the nice cardio workout. Quite a challenging first cache!

Thanks for the cool letterbox hybrid! I have had my eye on this one for a while, but today was the first time I was free at the same time as the water was low enough to cross. Came out with my wife and a friend and our dog, but the wife and friend weren't excited about the steep climb, and the dog was shivering hard after crossing halfway, so they all stayed below while I made the climb. Steep, hard, but enjoyable. Really nice views from the top. I saw a snake a few feet away from the cache, so keep alert. Found it reasonably quickly despite the many options for spots. Stamped my little notebook and headed down.

Sassydil’s photos tell the story! This river’s a dangerous one right now, and it will be a long time before a reasonable, safe crossing can be made. The present flow is almost at flood stage, and June 10th is the average date of peak flow from snow melt. This year, because of the unusually high snow pack in the mountains for this time of year a high flow can be expected for many more weeks. Three people have drowned on the river in the past couple of weeks. Don’t try a crossing, even if you have confidence. Over the past 40 years I’ve made quite a few crossings of the Poudre at several locations during periods of moderate-to-low flow and have almost been swept away twice. Don’t be fooled. Late July or sometime in August is the first time this summer when the river might possibly be crossed safely in the vicinity of this cache. Out-of-state cachers visiting Colorado this summer who are not cognizant of this river’s characteristics need to be aware that this cache is probably unwise to attempt until late summer. Stay safe..
