Near
the west end of Canon City. It's about a mile walk to the cache.
Terrain good except last 300 feet which includes rock scrambling.
Wear good shoes. Be careful of loose scree, snakes and cacti.
Elevation of cache: 5603'
NOTE: (Added 8/11) I am no longer near this cache to maintain it.Please BRING A NEW CONTAINER and help this cache out! Thanks.

This
cache is a 70's olive green tupperware cake container. Inside
you'll find some card games, a toy football, a fanny pack and a toy
truck. Plus a camera with which to take your photo and a notebook
and pen to log your visit. Please return it to its secure location
after you've found it.
It's at a most beautiful location with great views. You might
get lucky and see the Royal Gorge Route train go by while you're
there.
When I placed the cache, I saw a red fox whose territory I was
obviously trekking through. Maybe you'll see him.
After I placed the cache, I continued up to N38, 26.080; W105,
16.414, if you're feeling adventurous. Elevation: 5707'
Final note: After you've found the cache, you might want to
continue further on the trail. Its total length is 2 miles one
way.
Happy Geocaching! Kenneth Andrew

Great cache!
Logging a day late since my premium membership had lapsed, but was still able to find with Wild Columbine. Dropped a TB, too!!

Nice little gully climb. It took a while to find this one. The phone Gps was jumping all over in this tight gully. But, found it after a while for a smiley once the geo-senses kicked in!
Looks like some smaller rocks, probably from a rain storm, eroded from above to help cover this cache. Although, the cache is dry and still in good shape. Thanks!

Made it within what I think was 13 feet of GZ. Lost daylight and too many rocks and cactus to keep looking. I will be back...

Thanks for the fun cache!

Kerewin0430 and I were in the area to get the Soda Fountain cache. What an epic adventure that was! We had passed these caches on the way in as we needed to keep on schedule to beat the train. But on the way back we took a much more leisurely pace.

Found this one after a bit of a hunt. We ended up going way past it and much higher! The elevation hint actually helped a lot. Dead on according to my GPS. Much to my relief, as I was willing to DNF it just before spotting it. Signed the log and replaced as found. All is well here. Thanks again for placing this along such a nice trail!

Stopped for this one on the way back from Soda Fountain. What a great day of caching with RPieperCO! Thanks for placing this one, and thank you ESPECIALLY for including the hint about the cache elevation. We had climbed much higher and I almost had a panic attack when I got stuck on a narrow ledge with shifting rock underneath and surrounded by nasty cacti. We finally descended and were about to DNF it when RPieperCO spotted it. Thank goodness!

Out here crewing this morning for the balloons at the 4th annual Canon City Balloon Festival. Definitely a more challenging cache, aggravated by GPS bounce which had me scrambling much more than needed. The train also came by while caching heading out into the Royal Gorge. TFTC

It had rained and snowed the days before and the mud caught a big cat's track right on the edge of the road. We overshot GZ about 70ft. High above us something disturbed rocks (later saw some bighorns). So we decided to turn back down to search again, after spending at least 30 minutes. Score! Container is in good condition. We worked for this smiley. Tftc.
