Here's the Cache
The Dam

Long hike followed by a quick find at 7650 feet.
This one is named for the dam we found just below the cache (not for the things my wife called me during the hike). You should make the final approach from above. Coming up the slope from the dam is very difficult. A main trail comes up from the east. Leaving this trail N38 56.720, W104 53.665 is the preferred final approach but this trail doesn't come up from the Blodgett parking area.

Initial ammo can contents include a poncho, Play-doh, Freehand yo-yo, Spiderman Pez dispenser, bubble ring, puzzle, mini-basketball, turtle beanbag, Dexter, Pokemon top, hamster, Liqui-lights flashlight, log book, pencils and pencil sharpener.

Went for a nice long hike/jog after work today. Have explored this area from the other trailhead a number of times, and somehow always came close to the cache, but not close enough to grab it quickly. Tonight was the night! Thanks for placing this cache!

I went for a 6.2-mile hike this day. It was supposed to be over 10 miles, but the sun was beating down on me in the morning and I had run out of water (left the extra bottles in the fridge) by the time I reached the top. I save enough in hopes that there was running water in the creek down in the draw I was crossing. Whew! There was and I didn't get sick from drinking it with no filter (double Whew!) Anyway, I got ran off by the lightning so I didn't get all that I wanted to get. TFTC!

Doh, I shoulda followed directions. I came up from the spring below the cache, which I do not recommend. I should've followed the Gamble Oak trail up to where it joins the Douglas Fir trail, and come down from above.

The cache is in good shape. There were lots of birds hiding in the forest near here, TNLN

Thanks for the fun cache! After work today I decided that I needed a hike to recharge the soul a bit. I was looking for something hard and reasonable long, but not so bad that I would get home late. I decided I would run this trail up to a higher cache on the ridge and added a few caches along the way. The weather appeared to be not cooperating but once at the parking there was just enough break for me to think this planned hike will be OK. This was the second stop along the way. Much further off the main trail than I had expected. Once I gain elevation I hate to lose it! Wink Quick find once at the GZ. Signed and stamped the log and replaced everything as found. TNLN. All is well here! Thanks for placing this fun cache along a great trail!

I picked this one up while in the local area. I decided on a short day-hike, and wanted to start exploring the trails around Blodgett. I was able to find this one with no drama and the cache is still in great shape. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.
