The trail is on an old mining road which leads to Hicks Mountain. The trail is wide, and includes some elevation gain. Parking is available at N 39 40.396 W 105 26.628. From the parking spot, the trail (which is a wide unused road) is west, and you should reach it within 100 feet.

It is less than a mile, as the crow flies to the cache. Near the cache is an old car, and some old miners cabins. This is a fun place to explore. Please leave all artifacts for others to enjoy.

Once you have found the cache, you can optionally continue on the road to a viewpoint at the top of Hicks Mountain.

The encrypted hint is kind of a spoiler, so only decrypt if you want to know exactly where it is.

 Hints

The cache is hanging on a tree branch at eye level near the trunk of a pine tree. It is a camoed Campbell's soup containter. It is attached with a shower curtain hook. Please be sure to screw the lid back on securely. Please be gentle with the shower curtain hook, it will bend easily.

Return visit, for a coin drop, and because I couldn't find Moss Rock Wall. Nice ski in and out with Loki.

I found this one with Nickgatt and my geohound, Cuervo. We headed up 103 and hiked up Mt. Hicks. TFTC SL.

@12:32:00 PM #21288 killian33, Cuervo, the wonder dog and I went caching along Hwy 103. Nice 5 mile hike to Hicks Mountain and a couple of shorter sprints for a few more caches! TFTC

What fun to find your cache on this great trail. My friend is a new geocacher and she was the one who found it! We also replaced two of the nearby caches so that this area has a nice selection to find. We were not able to find two that have not been found for a couple of years, but some are still there. This one is in great shape and easy to find! Thanks :)

Did this on K-Wulff's 18th birthday, before going down the hill to Woody's to celebrate. Ski in-ski out.

Still hanging! I decided to ride here today to check out the trails & hopefully escape the heat and smoke that kept indicating disaster for another family (Black Forest Fire). It was indeed cooler up here. This is a great trail, thanks for bringing me here. A favorite point for hiding a cache where I can ride my horse to find it.

We found the cache on the ground and didn't see a shower hook to hang it from. We hung the cache from a branch in the tree under which we found it. Cool area.

Wandered around a bit looking for this one--happily had the hint so that we knew what we were looking for. Found that it had fallen to the ground (we were looking up a eye level). But found the hook and returned it to its proper place. Very nice cache and area--and even got some views. Thought about eating lunch at the spot but decided to go on until we got to the last cache. Thanks so much for this one.
