The hike is steep but a Jeep can get you most of the way there. The sunset views from here are great. Is on a steep bench about 100' above the river at ~6900'. Top portion of trail is very steep and cross slope. Only attempt if you are a seasoned four wheeler. Otherwise you can hike it.
Traditional with log book, pen and a red Hotwheel Jeep.

This one was tough to get to. Tried from the West but the road is closed at the viaduct. Backtracked to Howard Creek Rd and approached on CR 45 from the East. Two times the road was blocked by vehicles parked right in the middle of the road. Finally got to the out house and walked up the 4X4 road and about half way up I thought to myself I could have driven up here the Jeep is built for this type of road.
Decided I needed the exercise. Found the cache after a short search and considering it's been almost 3 years since someone was here it is in good condition. Log is dry and container is still intact. TFTC

Spending our 5th summer in Buena Vista with a dozen or so of our Jeeping friends. We love to explore the roughest, toughest dirt roads in our gold-mobile, and find lonely caches in out-of-the-way places. We entered CR45 from the east in our gold Jeep cachemobile and we were able to travel all the way west to CR7 because Badger creek was low enough to cross.
Parked at N 38* 28.287 W 105* 52.263 at the campground where a 'No Vehicle' sign blocks the trail up to the cache. Fairly easy walk up the trail.

Beautiful view! We got close with our 4WD but hiked the last part. Hard work for flatlanders like us but well worth it. Thanks for the find.
