The cache is not at the listed coordinates. The listed coordinates are where we were when we saw the craft go down. If you can solve the puzzle, hopefully that will lead you to the cache.

Sunday, April 1, was a beautiful, clear, sunny day...a great day to do some caching! Setetchie and I went out to do some maintenance on some of my caches and to find some others in the area. One of Zulu113's puzzles was nearby...I had solved it when it first came out, but hadn't gotten around to getting it yet, so we decided to grab that one.

On the way to the cache, we saw something that looked like a flaming ball fall from the sky and crash on the hillside nearby. Cool, I thought! Maybe it's a meteor!

Setetchie and I hurried to where we thought the meteor had landed, discussing ways we could retrieve it without burning ourselves. When we arrived, however, it wasn't a meteor, but a smoking, metal object! It looked like a small spacecraft, just like the flying saucers from 1960's TV shows. It was pretty much destroyed, and nearby lay the apparent pilot. He also looked much like the aliens in those same TV shows. It was obvious he was badly hurt, so being certified in first-aid, I knew it would be a bad idea to move him (I'm assuming it was a him, but who knows?). I always carry a mini first-aid kit when I am caching, so I bandaged him the best I could, then we went to seek help.

I didn't really want to go to the "authorities" yet, as I was certain they'd probably take him somewhere and dissect him or something, so I went to a medical clinic that was open on Sundays. I told the doctor on duty there about what we found, and naturally he thought we were crazy. We left the clinic after he threatened to call the police, so I figured I had to do something about it myself.

We returned to the crash site. The ship was still there, but no sign of the alien other than a few blood stains on the ground, and a set of symbols scratched in the dirt.

We searched the area extensively, but found no further sign of the alien.

We took the pieces of the ship, which was now cool enough to touch, (and which I still have), and I took pictures of the symbols.

I NEED YOUR HELP!

I know it sounds crazy, but there is an alien out there somewhere who may still be alive! I have the wreckage from his spacecraft to prove it!

I tried to post the photo of the symbols, but it came out much too dark, so I copied them the best I could onto a piece of paper and scanned it in. I’ve tried to decipher the symbols, hoping it might be a clue to the alien’s whereabouts, but I haven’t gotten very far. I thought since there are a lot of intelligent problem-solver types in the geocaching community, I'd reach out to you.

Can you help?

 Hints

I won the container at the DGS event on 3/31/12. Plenty of room for tradables and trackables, and it's starting out full of good swag!

Thanks for the fun puzzle cache! I have looked at this one a thousand times. Never got anywhere. I reached out to a previous finder who was kind enough to point me in the right direction. I was in the area for an appointment after work and swung by. Amazing that this is still here! And in perfectly good condition! Signed the log and replaced as found. All is well! Thanks again for the headache! ha ha ha!

Found today safe and secure. The cache container is dry and in good shape although I had to dig it out of it's hiding spot since it has sat by itself for quite awhile...TFTC SL
