The word 'colorado' means 'colored' or 'colored red' in Spanish. The Colorado state was named after the Colorado River, which Spanish explorers named 'Río Colorado' (meaning 'colored river') for the red silt the river carried from the mountains

Colorado is the only U.S. state that lies entirely above 1000 meters elevation. Its lowest point, 3,317 feet (1,011 m) in elevation is the highest low elevation point of any state, and is higher than the highest elevation points of 18 states. Colorado contains 75% of the land area of the U.S. with an altitude over 10,000 feet

The United States federal government owns more than 1/3 of the land in Colorado.

The 13th step of the state capital building in Denver is exactly 1 mile high above sea level

I am placing some caches around that will be mostly P & G for everyone to enjoy.

Dud&Plato had shown me a few of the puzzles in the series that he couldn't figure out. After a bit of looking and thinking I managed to figure out the answers. He had already looked for and logged a bunch of them, but when we went out today he was nice enough to stop at all of the caches so I could sign the logs. It was a pretty nice day out, not too hot and not too cold. If I'd had more time I would have even consider walking the whole way around, but had other things I needed to do today. I had a lot of fun solving the puzzles and looking for the caches. Sad to say we did have one DNF, but we'll try looking again sometime to finish the geoart. TFTC|SL

If there is anything specific to share about any of the caches it will be noted after this point. Cache was in good condition.

Thanks for placing this puzzle cache for us to find!

Ah it was nice to turn the corner with this cache. Both in solving it and its physical location. Most of this puzzle was straightforward.... most. But one fact just wouldn't work for me, and I'm telling you I was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off figuring it out. I had to convince the checker I was the boss eventually. Without giving anything away: if you're looking at 18, perhaps you should be thinking 4 instead. I'm still not sure why, perhaps it's like in dogs years kind thing? Heh... anyways hope Barasaur doesn't mind that nudge included in my log.

After fighting the puzzle for far to long, it was nice that the find was a quick one, and a bit calmer. Sometimes the struggle for a solution really does make the find that much nicer! Cache and log are in great shape. TFTC|SL

While visiting NOCO and our daughter in Severance, I needed to do some caching. I had some in mind, but after attending last Monday's weekly event, I decided that Barasaur caches would be more appropriate. I solved some Colorado puzzles and plotted the Colorado traditional caches, hopped on the bike, and had fun in the Colorado sun. Thanks Barasaur for the events and this fun series. All caches were in good shape (except one moist one and one DNF)

This one gave me more trouble in the solving than most in this series, but eventually I got the checker to agree with me. Since I'm a Neurologist, Mike (or Mike's brainstem) was quite interesting to me. Beyond that, the cache was a quick find today; with BugRanger to get a little geo-art. TFTC!

Solved these before we came up so we knew where we were going. Glad to have another geo art! This one, most of the caches were easy but some weren't there so we replaced them. Don't know how long they have been missing, guess people are just logging finds because we didn't see any DNFs. We were thankful for the ones on the dirt roads or the few that had decent pull offs. Several times we walked a ways from safe parking but some were very scary to even walk to because of the busy roads. We managed to get this series pretty quickly then moved on to the next. Thanks for the art and pointing us in the right direction on some!
