Rocky Mountain Ditch ... is filled with water diverted from the south bank of Clear Creek. Claimants in 1884 were the Rocky Mountain Water Company. The ditch flows southeast, one branch to Sloan Lake, in May 1, 1862
The Rocky Mountain Ditch delivers irrigation water from Clear Creek through an earthen embankment irrigation ditch. Operations began in 1862 and the ditch currently extends 19 miles from Golden, Colo. to parts of Wheat Ridge, Lakewood and Denver.
The ditch serves as a major source of water for a legendary Brewing Company near Golden, also supplies water to Sloans Lake, Rocky Mountain Lake and Lake Berkeley.
