Short hike (less than 1km) 

Look out at the burn area & see the forest & neighbors rebuild. 

short hike of less than a mile round trip. Cache contains FIRST TO FIND travel bug & HUMMINGBIRD travel bug

This is the High Park Fire burn area. Fitzfindz (cache owner) have 2 homes that were SAVED BY FIREFIGHTERS.

Eiger Rd. travels through the destruction on both sides.The beauty in regrowth of the forest & homes has begun.  

The Red Tin Tin roof (N. of final cache) is the home we watched the fire progress. The starting point, Middle White Pine Mt. (to the S.), was hit by lightning   We kept vigil for several days as it crept down to Stovie Praire Rd. & into Poudre Canyon. High winds fueled the flames & as the fire jumped the river & headed up Sheep Mt. (right in front of you). At 11pm we were evacuated for almost 3 weeks as we watched the devistation from news clips.

Coming home was bitter sweet..  GRATITUDE for our lives & home.. & sadness for our neighbors loss. No one died & we are THANKFUL.

We might be sitting on the deck ENJOYING THE VIEW, so wave & yell HELLO.
