Started an epic caching weekend by checking out the fire tower, then meandering south along Rampart Range Road. Met up with Billkat and GoMRT for a fun hike this morning. This is a VERY steep way to descend!!! Thankfully, none of us slipped or fell...but the falls sure are impressive. Thanks for placing this cache!

Wow! That side trail is wicked. Coords are bouncing everywhere so we were glad to have a nudge. Tftc!

Came across from "Shelter from the wind" after going up the blue trail. This felt like quite an adventure for me, and as others have mentioned I went in several different directions closer to GZ before eventually finding the cache. I was really considering the irony of falling whilst looking for this cache which was a possibility on more than one occasion. I found the trail quite beautiful and a good challenge, so this gets a FP from me.

Many cachers have found this cache since I DNF'ed it. I thought I would go ahead and give it another try today since it was now "so easy' to find. On my 1st attempt to find this cache I approached from the top. Today I went ahead and hiked up the ravine from the bottom. It wasn't a very long hike but it sure was steep. My GPS said 12 ft once I arrived at GZ but since I had searched this area on my 1st visit I went ahead and expanded my search. After about 30 mins of unsuccessful searching I pick up my GPS and it now said I was 50 ft away so I walked to a new location. It wasn't too long after that that I finally made the find. Even then I probably was 30 ft or so from where I started my second search. My GPS at the final said 15ft. Lots of GPS bounce. TFTC.

I DNFd this one over 5 years ago and finally got back to the area for another try. I was having a horrible GPS day and it kept bouncing me all over the place. Estes01 was along and had found it before but long enough ago to be unsure of the location. After a while I heard her calling and just figured she got tired of waiting for me. It turned out that she got enough signal on her phone and it was pointing right to it. I guess that's why it's called a smart phone. When I finally got to her my GPS said I was 85' off. I don't really believe it since other people have had much better luck getting a decent reading at GZ. All I can say is if you are looking for orange dots they will get you fairly close. I'm glad to cross this one off my list. TFTC

Although I have been in the area before, and to this cache, I really haven’t had the opportunity to explore this trail system and try the many caches in the area. That changed today while goofing around with GoMRT and RPeiperCO. While this Geo-Rat pack might be a motley crew, we were trying to pick up as many as we could while heading for a special cache.
I DNF'ed this one almost exactly 3 years ago...on 8 April 2015, so it was good to get the smiley today. This trail network is really nice…I’m sorry haven’t spent more time back here until today. Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find and giving me a good excuse to revisit this trail network, TFTC.

Thanks for this fun and really tough cache! We were grateful again GoMRT was present for this one! Luckily he had already done the hard work locating it! I was up here last summer with the family and took a DNF. Glad to be getting it back to a smiley! Much better conditions, but worse in a few spots due to ice.
So we had been planning to do Blodgett's Shadow today but a combination of bad weather and a loss of one of our hikers made for a change of plans. I still had half a day scheduled off work and with an FTF hanging out there we just had to go this route to grab it and all the others that we needed.
Met up at noon and carpooled up to the parking coords. Always lively conversation with GoMRT and KTrackers!! All the way the temperature dropped and clouds got darker. I was a bit nervous as we set out not sure what the next few hours might do.
We found all but one cache along the way and very grateful GoMRT had found most of them as the assist in a few places was really appreciated!
This was our sixth cache of the day. Came at this one from the top down today. MUCH MUCH easier! This trail is no joke any time of the year! Going up it is brutal, coming down is just treacherous! Add in the ice flows, mud and wet surfaces... Glad we made it down clean and safe! At the GZ it was no surprise to me that my GPS was pointing WAY somewhere else! But GoMRT was kind enough to keep us focused where we needed to be. Found it quickly with that help! Signed the log and replaced it just as found. GREAT hide! So glad to get this off the list!
Off to the last cache! Hopefully in one piece! This is a heck of a trail!
Thanks again for placing this for us all to enjoy!
